See Bere Running Down Along The Canal?
I agreed to run with Bere this morning but didn't really believe I'd run more than 4 or 5 miles. It was a beautiful cloudy morning. The Sun would take a peek often through the clouds and made for great pics along the run. We started on a road in Central Phoenix and made our way to the Canal. At the start of our run, my music player didn't seem to want to work so I ran another long run without music. If I had been by myself, I probably would have given up and not even run.
So there we go. Run started off great and found my groove. At some after 3 miles, Bere took off on her own so that she could run 10 miles and I followed way behind. My plan was to run 8 miles but pushed myself to add one more mile.
After we met up I was about to crash and burn but Bere kept pushing me along. The last two miles were rough. The wind kicked up and it was a bit colder than when we began our run. At the end of our run, I realized that I was .18 off of 9 miles so I ran a short distance so that I could have all those miles on record. Overall, I'd say I had a great run. I thank Bere for pushing me along and setting a new PR for a long distance run. My legs feel good today. I plan to go for a run later this evening and run 3 miles so I can have a 20 mile week. It's been a great training week!
