Mizuno Wave Elixir 8
I've noticed from a look at my Sitemeter account that I receive many hits on my blog about my reviews of various running shoes. I thought it was time to write another update because I've changed things up a bit since last October. I decided to make a adjustments after the heel injury and try out other shoes.
I still have an affair for the Nike Zoom Structure Triax+ 15. This will always be one of my favorite running shoes. I've ran 12 of my 13 half marathons thanks to this model. Running mentor and friend, Jim Prescott, who happens to work at Runner's Den, probably the most respected Running store in Phoenix, suggested I try the Mizuno Wave Inspire 8. From the moment I tried these shoes on, my feet felt like 'butta'! As of late, I've been running more and more in these shoes. Runner's Den has group runs on Wednesday evenings. I always look forward to seeing this group of friends and runners. It always is a perfect time to ask Jim for suggestions and running tips. I've asked him various questions about the Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 and have since kept this shoe in mind. When Runner's Den announced that all Mizuno shoes in stock were 25% off, I went down to the store and asked Jim a few more questions. He asked what size I wore and brought out the Elixir babies.
First of all, I love the look of this shoe. Bright colors on shoes always score huge points with me. Since these are considered performance/race shoes, I thought I would use these shoes specifically for speed, tempo, and long runs. I was thrilled to try the Elixirs out for a run this morning and I'm happy to report that the shoes felt great. The shoe has enough stability for my feet yet I could definitely tell that these shoes are much lighter than the other two pairs of shoes I use for training.
I plan to continue to use these shoes as part of my training and hope to use these for my half marathon this coming weekend. I look forward to a follow up review of these shoes on Sunday. Overall, I feel good about my training. It's been a bit intense yet still on the fun side of running. I'll never be super fast but I know I look damn good as a Size 6 and a smile while crossing the Finish Line at any race.
***Recommendation: I highly recommend the RunningShoesGuru.com for reviews on the latest brands and models of the leading running shoes. It's good to know that a there is site that is always a step ahead and an insider's opinion along with customer's feedback. It helps to make the right choices for your feet!
