This weather is mad dog crazy. I gotta admit that I love this change. It's nice to actually wear winter clothes. I've enjoyed wearing my favourite parka. There's nothing like wearing over sized sweats while lounging around at home. Did I say oversize? Yes, my sweats are now over sized. It such a great feeling to know that I can now wear any item in my closet. Many of my shirts are huge. I can now wear medium shirts again. I want to treasure this for all it's worth because I've worked hard at this goal. As of today, I've lost 54 pounds. I weigh 176 pounds. My goal is to be at 167 pounds. I know that because of my work outs and running, muscle weighs more than fat so I need to concentrate on my whole being and eventually I will get to that magic number.
My blog receives so many hits from Jann Arden fans wanting to learn the secret to how she recently lost 60 pounds. I've received a good number of emails from her fans asking me what's my secret and what foods are part of my diet. My food intake has nothing to do what what I am eating, it's more about what I am not eating. I am staying away from breads, sugars, and fatty foods. I eat more proteins such as fish and chicken, more vegetables and raw fruits. Exercise has become a religious matter. I make shure to work out on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I'm only at the gym for about an hour. I run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturday mornings. Sunday is my full day of rest. Of course, there are those days when I'm not able to run or work out because of work or LIFE! When that happens, I'm not guilty one bit...I just promise myself to do what I can to fit exercise in the following day. Day by day.
I will be the first to say that I am not fond of the gym. I love the results I get from going to the gym. I love how a good work out out has helped my stress levels. I love how exercise kick starts my metabolism. I love how my clothes fit. I love the person that I see in the mirror. For all those reason, I go to the gym. I just do it. I'm the last person that should be preaching but really, until you commit to a program, no program will work. Shure go ahead and pay the high price of Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, and other programs...but if you're not going to commit to making changes in eating habits and lifestyles, there is no program on earth that offers magic results. It takes work and dedication. I'm glad that I finally kicked my ass into gear. I know that I have to continue to eat well, exercise, spiritually fuel myself to keep this balance in check. I've worked too hard to take any of this for granted. That's the advice I have to offer about diet, exercise, and spirituality.
My opinions and thoughts go out to those that are capable of losing the weight without daily guidance from doctors. I know there are those that physically are not capable of losing the weight on their own. Even if you believe and feel healthy, make a doctor's appointment and let him/her know of your intentions. I wish I had learned all of those long ago. I wish I didn't spend the latter part of last year feeling guilty about the massive weight gain. Live & learn.
Work has been fabulous! My clients have kept me going, going, & going. I'm very thankful to have such projects that keep me busy. I've also been working on many musical projects & promotions. There are many great musicians that are heading to Phoenix within the next few months. I'm honoured to be working with such great acts and venues. I'm also working with various promoters and venues out of LA. I feel as though I'm starting to shine in this area. It's all good!
Rachael Sage. I have always adored Rachael and her music. She's one of my fave folky musical goddesses. I saw her perform at Genghis Cohen in LA on the same night that she shared the bill with Genevieve & Melissa Polinar. That night, I purchased her latest CD, The Blistering Sun. I didn't get a chance to hear it because I was immediately busy dealin
g with Melissa and her gigs here in Phoenix. So when I finally had private time to listen to the CD, I noticed that the first track, Alright, OK, had a major skip. So I
contacted Rachael and it was wonderful to receive word from not only the musical goddess herself but from JoJo and another member from her team. I was notified to be on the look out for a replacement CD. Rachael sent me a goodies package which included not only a replacement of the CD but a copy of her own label's compilation of Indi music & artists, New Arrivals: Volume 1. An autographed poster, stickers, and little candies with her name written on them...YUM! She also included a special treat! Rachael Sage feather boa! Fabulous! You know I had to take a picture with it! See, I doubt I'd have received such attention from a huge label. So this gesture truly stands out...thank you so much, Rachael, for the goodies package! You and your team are the best!!!
This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of seeing & hearing musical goddess, Tara Leigh Cobble. As always, she gave an amazing performance. Always in great vocal mode and
spiritual & touching to the soul. Tara released a book and CD with the same title, Here's To Hindsight. The book is about her many adventures of touring over these past years. The songs on the CD reflect the captured stories from the book. I've been enjoying this book every night before dream time. Best of all, I invited local musical Diva, Mary Hoffman and her family to this gig. I've been wanting these two to meet for quite some time. Mary even had a chance to perform a few songs for Tara. If all goes well, Tara & Mary will be perform a gig during Tara's next visit to the valley. *The picture above: Mary (left) & Tara (right).
I have so much more I wanted to write about. I've slowly been writing this post since early this morning! Yes, I've been that busy. I will have to continue my thoughts tomorrow. Music today...sexual content tomorrow!
Hope everybody is HUMPIN' along!
Take care. Keep warm & Enjoy the moment!
